Title:
Motorola Seamless Mobility Initiative

Presenter:
Mr Ezzy Dabbish, Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff,

Date:
October 27, 2005

Abstract:
Seamless mobility is a set of solutions that will provide easy, uninterrupted access to information, entertainment, communication, monitoring and control - when, where and how we want, regardless of the device, service, network or location. Instead of experiencing a disconnect as we move between different devices, environments and networks, seamless mobility will deliver fluid experiences that span the home, vehicle, office and beyond. A video teleconference will move transparently from a wireless local area network (LAN) at the office to the traditional cellular environment for the drive home and to the fixed home network when you arrive. A premium entertainment experience will start on a digital television at home, shift effortlessly to a digital infotainment system in the car and continue on the device formerly known as the cell phone. Seamless mobility also means our mobile devices and networks will understand us better. They will learn our preferences, sense the world around us, and use that knowledge to make life easier.
