About TITR
The Telecommunications and Information Technology Research (TITR)
Institute is a flagship research strength of the University of Wollongong,
Australia. The University of Wollongong is one of Australia's leading
universities in IT&T with an outstanding record in research and
development and partnerships with industry, acknowledged by winning
twice the title of Australia's University of the Year (for 1999 and 2000).
TITR is one of the largest University based sites for IT&T
research in Australia. The NSW Government has declared TITR to be the
State's Centre of Expertise in Telecommunications. TITR consists
of a number of research centres, which collectively represent some
60 academic research staff and over 95 post-graduate students
(mostly at PhD level).
TITR's major research collaborations have included: Telstra,
Nortel, Motorola, MCI Worldcom, Vodafone, Ericsson, Alcatel,
Xylan, HP, CSIRO, AWA, DSTO and SITA. TITR has been a centre of
excellence for Telstra for over 10 years. TITR researchers have
won major international awards including the European Multimedia
Award the British Multimedia Award for interactive educational
software systems.
