Visual Signal and Information Processing Research Group
Objectives
To conduct research and provide education and training opportunities in the
area of visual Signal and information processing including signal and image processing,
video communications, Machine learning, Data mining, pattern recognition, machine
vision and smart vision and image sensors.
Aims
- to foster a culture of high quality research in visual information
processing and related areas;
- to advance the design of smart imagers and vision sensors;
- to influence and enhance the learning of signal, image and information
processing at the University of Wollongong;
- to support honours and postgraduate research students;
- to form linkages with industry and internationally renowned research
groups and institutions in the areas of signal, image and information processing
and pattern recognition;
- to attract competitive grants and industry funding;
- to provide consultancy to industry.

- Detecting, locating, and tracking human faces using skin colour,
